Hi, I'm Liz - Louisiana's Attorney General and part-time nuisance.

Bringing big-government energy to
your personal freedoms.

Liz Murrill

My tenure as Louisiana attorney general has been a masterclass in culture-war lawyering. On abortion, I’ve pursued some of the most aggressive enforcement in the country, including targeting out-of-state doctors and abortion pills.

I’ve signaled interest in reviving harsher capital punishment standards, taken a hard line on citizenship and ICE, and backed national Republican efforts to tighten elections rules.

I’ve supported limiting environmental review in a state uniquely vulnerable to climate damage, sided against LGBTQ+ rights by backing restrictions on gender-affirming care, and defended government-mandated religious displays in public schools.

To top it off, I joined GOP attorneys general urging the Supreme Court to entertain Trump’s immunity claims tied to January 6. Altogether, it’s less about protecting Louisianans and more about litigating the conservative grievance-of-the-week—with impressive consistency.

Proud ally of spineless leadership everywhere on Capitol Hill.

My Record

I led multi-state efforts supporting plaintiffs who attacked the overly restrictive firearm laws in New York and Hawaii. I have a concealed-carry permit and regularly practice shooting and safe handling of my firearm.

I'm on the board of the Federalist Society. You may have heard of them...they're largely responsible for getting Trump's picks on the Supreme Court and helping to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Defending the Unborn

I defended Louisiana’s admitting privileges law all the way up through the United States Supreme Court, paving the way to reverse Roe v. Wade just two years later.

My efforts defending Louisiana’s pro-life laws earned me the 2022 Leadership for Life Award from Louisiana Right to Life. I was a Supreme Court Fellow (not Clerk) so I was close enough to see the robes, not close enough to write the opinions.

Louisiana’s power couple keeping the state on brand.
